this project starts from the notion that civil liberty
demands that the individual rather than the state must
take responsibilty for the smooth running of society.
it questions to what extent this situation can work in
the interests of society, without some other
governing system.
a case study:
you might get the bus rather than drive, in the hope
that everyone else would do the same.
if everyone gets the bus
if most people get the bus
but if hardly anyone gets the bus
the above case study can be taken as an analogy
of a decision which can be seen in many everyday
situations. we wanted to put this decision in the
way of a of an otherwise banal everyday situation.
we wanted the decision to be reasonably clear.
so we put it into a vending machine...
