As part of the Acton Liveability Strategy to improve the pubic realm in the Borough work has commenced to change King Street and The Mount pedestrian area in Acton. The Strategy has been developed by Ealing Council and is being managed by Action Acton.

A close involvement of local residents and businesses has been an integral part of this project since 2002 when public consultation identified key issues and opportunities for improvements to the space. East architecture, landscape urban design were appointed to design the improvements in 2003.

Now that changes are happening on the ground it is essential to the success of the project to maintain dialogue with the communities that use the space. A key way to do this is to monitor changes as they happen and make feedback from that process publicly accessible. The results of this process are presented in this website.

By monitoring changes and reactions to them, and giving visibility to the data collected it will be possible to help broaden understanding for all involved of the effect of the changes on those who use the space, and also provide a record of the changes themselves (once spaces have been improved it is surprising how quickly the previous condition and problems are forgotten).
